Poor Mark of the “Social Network” is still recovering from the Cambridge Analytica scandal—Alexandria Ocasio-Cortez questioning him just days ago. [update: it has now been a few years since the whole scandal inquiry went down] When the news broke and we all witnessed Zuckerberg go through a lengthy, grueling trial, many thought that the era of Facebook had come to an end.

But has it?

On the contrary, Facebook continues to grow and progress like a rocket. In the second quarter of 2019, Facebook had 2.41 billion people using the platform for sharing, socializing, and connecting with people. And if there’s anything, this proves it’s that people love Facebook (even if the lawmakers don’t!). And that it is these people that clever brands know they need to target.

For in the hands of the right business owner, Facebook is actually one of the biggest marketing tools in the world. So how can you get the most out of influencer marketing to promote your products on Facebook?

Making a Facebook Influencer Page

Social Media Marketing: Facebook Influencers

You probably already know that making a Facebook influencer page is the first step in the marketing process. Make sure you’re getting the categories right (i.e., it’s a business page). Facebook pages also allow you to list your products: complete with their prices and details. It’s like building your website that can also double as a social networking platform—and that we think is great about Facebook.

Boosting Your Facebook Posts

Next, you must have noticed (if you use Facebook) that you receive on your newsfeed at times posts from pages you haven’t liked. These are “sponsored” posts from pages that pay Facebook a certain amount of money to “boost” their posts. As a result, even if people don’t know about your page or product, they’ll still get ads from your page. To put it otherwise, your online visibility will get a boost for an insignificant amount of money. There really is no greater market.

Taking Advantage of Facebook’s AI

Facebook doesn’t show you ads that are completely random. Let’s say a person had been searching for “wrinkles tips” on Google. Facebook will begin to show these people ads for “retinol” or “retinoic acids,” which are basically anti-wrinkle and anti-aging drugs. There’s a connection between what Facebook shows you and what it believes you want to see—and most of the time, its guesses are pretty much on-the-spot.

You can take advantage of this fact in your Facebook influencer marketing campaign by attaching the right labels to your products. And using the right keywords with the meta descriptions you’re adding to these posts.

Reaching Out to Facebook Influencers

Like Instagram, Facebook also has its fair share of influencers who have a huge following. Either through pages or their own profiles. With thousands of people following them, collaborating with these Facebook creators will ensure you get a bigger audience for your influencer marketing venture almost immediately. But you must be mindful of researching the influencer’s page and profile before to ensure that you’ve got the right person. Otherwise, imagine marketing cell phone repair parts through a food page!
